What to do when there is leakage at night

🔧 1. Shut Off the Main Water Supply

  • Locate the main water valve (usually near your meter or inside the bathroom).

  • Turn it clockwise to stop water flow.

  • This prevents further flooding or damage.

🪣 2. Contain the Water

  • Use buckets, towels, or old clothes to soak or catch the leaking water.

  • Place plastic sheets or trays under the leak (especially under ceilings or pipes) to protect floors and furniture.

🧰 3. Use Temporary Seals or Fixes

If you have access to tools or materials:

  • Plumber’s tape (Teflon tape) – Wrap around pipe threads if leak is from a joint.

  • Rubber patch and clamp – Use a piece of rubber (from gloves or hose) and tie it with zip ties or a clamp.

  • Epoxy putty or silicone sealant – Useful for minor cracks or pipe leaks.

Tip: These can be bought from your local hardware store near Radhe Radhe, Bhaktapur the next morning for a permanent fix.

📸 4. Take Photos

  • Capture the damage for reference, especially if you'll need help from a plumber or for insurance claims.

📞 5. Call a Plumber for the Next Morning

  • Search for a local plumber or hardware store number.

  • Schedule a visit for early morning.

  • Some Bhaktapur plumbers may offer emergency support—ask politely if it’s urgent.
